3D printing the engines takes the parts list from something like 10000 parts to under 1000. Amazing technology and there are a few companies doing it now.
3d printing is the way of the future can you imagine a 3d printer 10 stories high printing space craft :Y:

3D printing houses is happening. Seems it is one method of building that may be used on the Moon and Mars.
I know they designed a special spanner and emailed it to the ISS to print it. On the ISS they are also recycling plastic into a 3D printer. Cool stuff. I had a mate print a small Falcon Heavy model for me.

No . I can imagine a 3D printer the size of a small house that prints the base of the rocket and then climbs up the rocket printing more as it raises itself .

When it reaches the top it would just wheel itself down and split in half for removal.

The possibility of 5 launches for we Australians tomorrow. Four launches if you live in the USA.

The announcement of the New Shepard launch came late. They do keep their cards close to the chest. Launching a series of experiments for NASA. Of course it is a sub orbital launch as that is what New Shepard does.

The Falcon 9 first stage will not be recovered due to mission requirements. It's a heavy satellite going into a high orbit so no fuel left for a recovery. Shame but there it is.

The Soyuz is a Russian rocket launching a French satellite from South America. An international effort.

I will post live stream info later in the day. Don't think I will see the Falcon 9 or New Shepard live. My first day off today and I miss enough sleep through work so not keen to be up at 1 am. :D

A nice preview of the up coming launches by Scott Manley. A great channel to follow for all things rocket and Kerbal. Does anyone else use the KSP, Kerbal Space Program? I haven't used it in many weeks. It really is a good tool for learning about space launches, trajectories to the moon etc. NO.... it is not a game, it is a simulator!. LOL

It was very strange watching Spacex last night.. There was an unusual 'puff' of O2 coming out near the top that even took Tim by surprise, then we got the 'hold' call, Then Spacex came back and announced that ' todays launch is Cancelled' then end of Broadcast.... :|

Love the Scrubbed cartoon Ramjet.... :perfect:
