I grew up on the stuff as well, goes extremely well on school sandwiches, even better when they are left in the lunchbox for several hours in the heat of summer. There is something about the edges of bread curling up that makes the pecks paste more appetising, a bit of sun melted cheese to go with it is a memorable taste sensation.

Not sure kids these days get the same immune system kick start as we did in the 70's.

Great finds there Stoney It's great to un earth relics and like others have said wonder about the history / story behind them.

My partner thinks I am nut's to eating sardines on toast, but like I say to her there is stuff she eats that I can't stand to lol

Hey guys,
Fish straight out of the drink is the only way I can eat them,
the only paste or spread I will touch is the stuff I ate for lunch
every day at primary school "VEGIMITE" with cheese .
But hey Wally, I fully agree about the hot sun cooking the sangers
and building up the immune system,
but what I couldn't stomach was the sun bleached bottles of milk.
Never again, I still can't drink straight milk to this day.
Cheers from traumatized Stoyve.

It's funny you mentioned that "government issued milk" Stoyve, an old school that I go and snoop around near home is riddled with those blasted foil lids.

1922 half penny.

I love seeing roundness :)

Nice find with half penny, that compass looks like something I would have used at school, but I'm not quite that old - at least I hope. :8

Today I decided to try another old farm house (or what used to be a house)
Not sure of the exact era, but I believe it's early 1900's.

I couldn't find anything except bottle caps and junk.
This place takes the cake for the amount of junk it has.

I was getting sick of digging nothing, I decided today was not my day for detecting.

On the way back to my car I got what I thought was another bottle cap.
But it was this.

Less than 1 minute later I found this about 1/2 a foot away.

Then another.

I think I found where the cloths line used to be, as I found yet another one.

Four coins in about 10 minutes. I was stoked, but too hungry to continue looking.

Here's what they were.
1875 Penny
1934 Australian Penny
1926 Australian Penny
And a 1926 Australian Half Penny

Nice work, well done.

Thanks Heatho.
It's funny how things work out. I have found ten pre-decimal coins since I started.
The oldest being 1875 Penny, and now I've found three of the buggers.

Hmmmm..........makes me think...... 1926 was an unlucky year...........and.......2014 a lucky one  :D

The 1875 penny is a doosie, wish I could find pre-decs at that rate, and some fresh and exciting ground. :)

Here's my finds for today.

I thought that big box looking thing was a stash for a moment, still not sure as what it is.
The marble was a nice little surprise.
I can't believe the amount of buckles people loose.

And one coin for the day.
A 1934 half penny to go with the 1934 Penny I found a couple of days ago.
