I finished off my trommel, apart from some travel handles and a few add ons I am thinking of. ( and drilling my spray bar holes)
It has taken me about six weeks of spare time after work and when other things have not taken me out of the shed
All up I spent about $250 for the build. I bought what I could not salvage or make from scrap out of a metal recycle bin.
I am a novice welder, but learned a bit about it during the project. Angle grinders are a great help to pretty things up
It is not the bees knees other guys can build...but I am really happy with the result...never thought it would turn out as good as it did.
A big thanks to Hardyakka for inspiration...I would have bought one of his if I had the coin.
Frame is 25mm gal tube
Barrel end are an old compressor tank with some expanded 2nds from steel shop
Windscreen wiper motor, belt and a pulley from wreckers.
Sluice hopper shiny metal gal offcut from steel shop, blue bit out of a metal bin
Trommel hopper made all from scrap....was difficult welding this stuff for a learner welder.
Wheels from Bunnings
Sluice is gal 1200 long x 250 wide...off cut from steel shop.
A bit of ribbed rubber mat at start of sluice
Riffles from old highbanker.
Aldi backed spaghetti mat under riffles and expanded

Adding some paint..stops some rust and makes some of the recycled scrap pretty.

Really proud of "Little Blue" ( The Missus liked Parkers old washplant name on Gold rush) will take it for a run this weekend to try it out.

Addons planned are a bucket holder tipper and a hand powered addon to use for the areas that matter.
