The only trouble is replacing what you use cooking. Couldn't for the life of me convince SWMBO to buy extra flour & rice a few weeks ago and now we don't have much left so that means shopping. yeh we're doing it tough ha ha it isn't really hard to cook is it ? Especially if you can't go any where.

Things are looking up here tonight.

Ctacked my 35 day dry aged rib eye.

Quick sear with a simple sauce, mashed potato with plenty of butter and green beans on the side.

Beautiful meat to start with (butcher raises his own beef - square meaters - but exceptional after aging.

Looks mighty fine, I bet it tasted sensational Doc! :drooling:

Not undelicious, Billy. Very beefy and tender. Next time I think I'll get a chunk of rib eye on the bone, and dry age it longer, but with the bone on one side and the fat cap on the other.

Makka

Jannine runs the school farm, and asked some of the teacher support women who have nothing to do (only about 50 out of 900 kids at school) to weed the vege beds. One of them thought the baby beets were radishes and pulled them.

I like beetroot and hate to see stuff go to waste.

So I reduced some white wine and vinegar with some chopped shallots and herbs and threw in the cubes of beet.

I small sachet of lamb and rosemary gravy completed the sauce (they come in handy some times).

The result does look a bit grizzly (not quite as bad as most crime scenes), but tasted very nice. Bit like sweet and sour with not much sweet and an earthy undertone.

The beetroot greens and silver beet on the side was good too.
