My job today, as a disability support worker, was to teach my client to detect. Thankyou RJ for letting him use your atpro, and giving him advice :) He found 5c, and lots of junk....but as good as many of our first hunts I reckon!

Rocket's button is 1881 to 1901. A wonderful find. https://collection.maas.museum/object/248568

He was a true professional today... getting paid to detect. LOL I wish that Paul, his client, had found some pre decs or something really cool but it was a very challenging site even for us "old hands".

1181?? That's definitely pre-federation. :D Very nice button find Rocket, the example I was just looking at was from the 1870's, so might have a bit of age to it.

Pretty amazing to think that one of these guys might have lost that button - depicts NSW soldiers in 1885.

it is amazing what we find sometimes!

Two sites this morning with Rod. First site bugger all, so we moved onto a site that we did when I was a beginner. I hit a patch straight away. I wonder what costed a half penny, back in the day...more than a normal amount there. The pocket watch is silver.
