Thought I would share these Honour roles from 2 Locomotive depots which no longer exist. The first 2 images are from the Hamilton depot honour roll and the last is from Port Waratah. Not many people see them now as they are tucked away in a small hallway in our Admin building.

They used to sit pride of place just inside the main entrance. They were moved with the last renovations. Pity really.

Last year, a house was being built beside ours, and at 11:00am the builder told the guys to put tools down and shut up for the minute's silence when The Last Post began playing on their radio, which I thought was fantastic. I also had it on my radio and turned it up and opened the doors, as I usually do on this day, for all the neighbours to hear it and not forget it!

This year, a guy over the back fence was talking to another guy when the lead up creed to The Last Post started, so I did the same thing - turned up the radio and opened the back door and kitchen window for them to hear it play - and they talked all the way through it - and the minute's silence. I sat there getting angrier by the second, and when it finished, I yelled over the fence, "Well done guys - you just talked all the way through the minute's silence of remembrance - NO RESPECT!"
Then they were silent...
