Thanks guys, was good to be out in the bush again. Yes AR that was a smoky vein, found 2 spots where it was intersected by vertical veins and dug it all but was all just shattered pieces of grey cloudy stone. A couple that came up the creek 4 hours after us showed us an amazing piece they found...

Took our first trip out looking for some smoky quartz today, was keen to dig for it hoping to find some gem quality terminated stones however it was harder than it looks to find anyhing and when i did eventually find what i believe to be a pegmatite there was nothing of any quality in it...

No use to any of you mexicans, but this is who i use locally, flat rate of $12.10 a kilo and you have to buy a 1/4 beast but it works for us. Im sure you will find someone local to you almost anywhere in australia with a quick search. Nice knowing that your moneys going straight to the farmer...
