It's ok to play with some of the old crappy ones that you will find as well (hopefully) one day, that way you will still get to play and have that experience under your belt with them, and if you fry those ones it won't matter too much. ;) Just wait for that crappy silver day, but get your gear ready while your waiting, they don't take too long to show up when your on a roll. :p

Went to the local park yesterday for about half hour so the little one can play on the swings so I decided to take a little swing myself.

Haven't really had a chance to use the 705 since I bought it as the weather in Sydney has been horrendously hot.

Popped my cherry on my first coin finds. Only a couple of 1c pieces (or maybe 1 x 1c and 1 x 5c) and some scrap.

The thing with the roots coming off it is part of an old B&H smokes packet.

Found one piece that feels solid and heavy. I'm guessing it's lead. Just threw it in the ultrasonic cleaner with a little detergent and awaiting results.

Woke up at 3am to hit this park on bribie island this morning...I needed to get there early as it gets quite packed.Well arrived there with big expectations...After an hour or so i still hadn't dug a target...My dreams of a finds bag full of goldies was fast becoming a nightmare  So i headed of to plan B.....A park that was on the way home ...Swung there for a little over an hour for a couple of bolts and a bottle cap   Didn't really have a plan C cause i was supposed to be digging gold coins all morning at plan A park..Anyway headed home for a swing in penny padock ...Spent about 2 hrs there for a little bit of finds ....But alot of fun

Made an electrocis bath today...Thought i would put that crusty 6 pence in to give it ago...Left it in for about 2 mins..the black stuff just started falling off straight away...I wouldn't do it to a valuble coin..But works great for the ones you just want to pull out and look at occasionally :D

Well done on the silver mate. Yeah bribie is a hard place to detect. I found the parks ive been to are covered in ring pulls and other trash and gets frustrating very quickly. And i bloody hate the crowds lol :(

Yer mate i was at brennan park at 330am ....always markets and fireworks and all sorts of events there...Discriminated out all but 50c $1 $2 and all old coins....and did not get a solid tone in the whole park...Just scratchy ones...Ive learnt not to dig those ones on the xterra....as its 99% always junk.. went down the other end of the river where the hire boats are...and nothin but the old pull tabs every swing...And a few bolts...
