It's okay being 12v. Also there is no capacitor and where it is to be reinstalled no chance of fire. I was worried about something burning out but turned out okay.

Looks like a great idea.... sadly if I let our chooks out without supervision.... well they love flipping the mulch in the veggie garden and staking claim over any lettuce (that's their first port of call unless guided past at lightning speed.

Our lettuce never stood a chance this year between the chickens, rabbits and giant rabbits ( kangaroos)

Improving my automatic chicken door. I need some solder and heat shrink so it's an ugly job but will make it more reliable atleast. https://www.prospectingaustralia.co...082/1619226491_screenshot_20210424_103755.jpg here is the original battery and the old one from a broken down forklift. The battery that came with the system originally charges from a small solar panel which is great but it runs flat too easily and cost too much to replace. It's original voltage was 13 or 14 by memory so 12v is close enough to run the little motor twice a day. https://www.prospectingaustralia.co...082/1619226631_screenshot_20210424_103427.jpg The automatic chicken door system is a great idea but I wish they used heavier gauged wire and connections in these sort of things as I paid good money for the Australian product over the cheap foreign copy.
