I made this old rusted wheel barrow "pretty"

Nice work Redfin, I've been thinking about doing something like that.

Looks good redfin, and I like the look of those water bladders as well, Might be something I need to look at before we depart for our trip. I already have the fridge slide and drawers. I have a nice spot that the water bladder would fit.

Do you know anyone that already has one?

cheers

Not directly Richard, but have read many trip reports.
Seems a good solution for unused space, and saves carrying and securing jerry cans.

Be careful where you get your water bladder, I got one last year of ebay and it only lasted two weeks before the seams split :(. Mine was only $80 but you would expect it to last longer than that.

I weld PVC as part of my job and the weakest part is always the joins because the welds fuse the coating together but do not join the scrim(reinforcing) together.. Another thing is that every liter weighs one kilo... half a cubic meter weighs a half metric ton.. And bouncing all over rough stuff will burst the seams unless it is well supported in a box or similar to take the stress off the joins..... :) .

Yep, that's exactly what happened. A box sort of defeats the purpose of a bladder though. I was thinking I may be able to fix it with the heater strip on one of those vacuum sealers.
I am getting 2 x 50l molded poly ones next. You can get ones with molded spaces for the wheel arches that strap to your back seat, they come with the straps and pump etc. Similar to these ones.

My version of a Blue Bowl.
Shamelessly stolen from Gold Miner's thread.

https://www.prospectingaustralia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=913

Only variations.... GM spoke of creating a lip at the top of the upturned funnel.
He used a toothbrush cup I think. After looking at pics of the factory version, I used another funnel, cut a little bigger than the bottom one. See pic 2.
Plus Mine is blue and red. :D
Waiting for silastic to set so I can test it out.
