Got the daughter home briefly from Ohio where she lives and works. Not surprisingly she's craving some home cooked "comfort" food so we did the trad slow cooked lamb roast and a couple of days later turned the leavings into Leftover Lamb Roast Shepherds Pie - all done to full Grandma spec!! :D (bless her memory).

Had somewhat of a "smoked meat fest" last weekend.
Bought a bag of Heatbeads brand lump charcoal from the big green shed and put it to the test.
Fired up the Dragon on Saturday morning and ran it for about 34 hours starting with a rack of beef ribs (about 8 hours cook):

Next up was a boneless pork shoulder which I "modified" to eventually become pulled pork.

Cranked up the heat to enhance a supermarket bought pizza with a few added extras:

And finally closed the vents with a surprising amount of fuel left :Y:

It was the first time I have used this brand of charcoal but I reckon when I finally get to the end of the 20kg bag (used less than a quarter so far) I may well buy another
No affiliation, but a happy, well fed customer :p
Cheers and beers,
Billy.

mmmmm Billy that looks good, I've never tried cooking in that way and may be something I do in the future. :)

Mate, hook in to it! It's a whole new hobby in itself and one which provides tasty tucker as an added bonus! :p

Be careful though, its as addictive as prospecting/fossicking for gold/minerals etc! ;)

Cheers,
Billy.
