Today I bought a new trailer to carry all my prospecting gear 10'x6'

Some fabric for the dry washer I am making....still not sure if its going to be any good though, will have to wait till summer comes round again for some dry dirt

Hey MJB I was in Bunnings today and asked them if they sold canvas, they said no but pointed me to their tarps section. No joy there.

Then on my way out I saw a large Laundry Bag made out of thick canvas, whilst some people saw a laundry bag I saw the bellows for my drywasher it just needs a few cuts here and there and it will be perfect for the job. Of course the bellows will have Laundry Bag written on them :8

At $14 I couldn't argue with the price for that much heavy duty canvas.

Finally got my Mig welder with an additional wire gun fitting, 16mm plasma cutter, air comp, LCS bending machine, a good stock of fluxcore and solid wire and a few other toys Try and get me out of the w/shop now lol

That canvas sounds like a real win and I bet the old timers used their old laundry bags to make dry washers too. My dry blower is going to be powered by a leaf blower so no bellows. The fabric on the Keene dry blowers from memory are like a parachute material...tight weeve but open enough to let air through. I went to Spotlight with the missus and she put in the right direction. Will see how it goes

Explain to me how an L shape galv gutter bend is $39 (EACH !!!!) at Bunnings. Captive audience at the moment I guess with all the rain. Masters is no better. Did find an excellent poly, bendable, downpipe convertor with adaptor rectangle fittings at each end. $10 - happy days.

Hey loamer,

Maybe go to a guttering specialist or even a sheetmetal business and they will be able to bend up what you need for $5. A guttering specialist will have mountains of offcuts they will only be too happy to let you have.

MJB - already in hand but I needed two pronto and nothing open on saturday arvo or Sunday morning. My old metal work teacher from tech would be turning in his grave knowing I just forked out $80 for something I could make myself but tools are all sitting in Melbourne.

Well the old saying "happy wife, happy life" was put into practice on Wednesday when we picked up her/our new wagon... I wasn't well keen on the idea but got her for a great price off the lot and it will serve very well as a family wagon for years to come, aparently in a few years she will let me buy a land cruiser
