Hi B5, the brooch is silver I think, can't see any hall marks, it's very fine, rather ornate, may have been custom made, it cleaned up as I would expect silver to, the shilling got the same treatmen also, both came up quite nice; the opal is a doublet, my next door neighbour is an X opal miner, knows his stuff.
Cheers, SinHof.

Definitely a beautiful find SinHof, makes it all more interesting knowing you never know what shows up next

Thanks everyone for the kind comments, it certainly was an interesting afternoon hunt.
Cheers, Sinhof.

Hi Folks,
Thought I'd have a bit of a play photographically wise with yesterdays finds the mobile phone is lacking in its output with reflective subjects. Dragged out the macro camera gear, took a couple of shots and put them through the fully colour managed computer system, they look quite different now, converting them to JPEG file does degrade them somewhat though compared to the colour calibrated monitor output.
Cheers SinHof.

Hi Danny,
From memory yesterday the F/E#s were 12/41, just had a rerun in the front yard and got 11/41, the numbers did bounce around a bit depending on the swing angle but only in the 11 12/40 41 range.
Cheers,SinHof.

Some sweet finds there mate, the leg irons are awesome. How good is the 17 inch coil, I barely take mine off now

Hi Folks,
Just back from a swing on a couple of local beaches, still not a lot happening find wise, that said I did manage two British (I Think) half pennies, they were about ten metres apart, how's that for luck?
Coinballs, you're on the money with the 17" coil, it's my go-to coil most of the time and certainly the go on the beaches.
Cheers, SinHof.

Hi Danny, 12/46 47 pretty lucky to pick up both of them so far apart, with the 17" coil.

It's the advantage of the big coil . Yeah copper coins will come up around 1247 . All my 2 cent peices have come in on that point :)

Kind regards
