SA Broughton River gold

Years ago an old chap I worked with briefly told me about him panning for gold in the Broughton river. Then a few years ago a different guy mentioned to me while talking about prospecting that he new guys that panned in the Broughton river. Today while travelling home we spoke to a guy at red hill and he mentioned gold had been found in Broughton river also. He would not elaborate further though.
Does anybody on here know or had luck detecting there or even have info on rough whereabouts that this area might be? I know it would be private farm land. Cheers TG

I havent any first hand knowledge of the Broughton river, but to the Northeast of the headwaters there are known goldfields (Ulooloo).
From looking on Google maps, there is a reserve called White Cliffs between Koolunga and Yacka where you can free camp. ... could be a good place to investigate.
