About 1300kg based on a guess of 600mm hole 2mtr deep and it's all wild guess work. Considering the 200mm 8 meter peers that were required for our house, it looks a little inadequate. However there are huge number of facctors requiring evaluation.

I would say that they would lucky to be 400mm x1.5mts.
When that sandy ground gets wet they would just roll over.
The trees around here have been falling over, and they are in clay, and the hole is full of water, alot of the time there is no wind.

Probably the same towers. I'm actually researching about this for a uni assignment at the moment. SA's infrastructure is reaching the end of it's lifespan and needs replacing. Most of the funds from investment have gone towards management and marketing instead of asset replacement.

Possibly the design let them down, cost related? Looks like the holes were dug with an auger, smooth sides, nothing to anchor onto.
If you can imagine a cork stopper in an old style wine bottle, you can twist and pull the cork out but no way could you push it down into the bottle.
eg: Of a correct design.
