The local Bunnings battery/torch/generator sections have been decimated over the last few days, the upside is that there should be a few more prepared people out there now.

Hopefully we don't see another supercell like the one that was associated with the previous cold front/low, last thing we need is more tornado occurrences across the mid north.

That is exactle what I noted, little bit of concrete and thin metal.

Agreed.

Years ago I was involved in putting up a 100 foot tower. The cement base was greater than the base size of the tower and around 5 feet deep that was the specs we had to use. Thats a lot of concrete.

I am no engineer but those transmission towers I would have thought would need 5 or 6 times the concrete on each leg than they have.

Bet they will be looking into thst as well as the structural strength.
