The signet ring does look rather old, might be English hallmarks - the "N" should be the date letter. :Y:

Ok ... so, after finding a couple of Victorian coins in the dark last night , i just had to go back and have another scout around.

Actually , i nearly didnt dig this one
Fair dinkum ... I was dripping sweat, it was so hot, id had enough, and it was in the last 2 foot on the last run , and 4" off a star picket .
At first , i thought it was another penny....and then, when i realised it wasnt ... HOLEY # !!
