Hi, I'm from Drake NSW and love finding gold and crystals ect!

Whilst gold is our main focus here in Drake I find some interesting rocks ect in the creek while panning! I found this whopper about a year ago and thought it was quartz so popped it on the shelf as a room crystal... I think it may be topaz, however my masonry drill bit won't scratch it and I broke a sapphire on it Any ideas if I'm on the right track. Topaz is apparently present geologically in this area! TIA
