I'm based in SE QLD and have been prospecting for the last 6 years mostly in the Warwick goldfields and surrounds.
I'm keen to explore some areas of northern NSW, and looking forward to meeting others and sharing knowledge.
Primarily gold but also semi precious stones, i detect, sluice and pan.

I'm looking at areas around Drake through to Tooloom, but with so many state forest closed at the moment i'm looking for possible private permissions or suggestions of other accessible areas.

Info here on the Drake area but as you know it's pretty dependent on the State Forests current status.

Private property is a bit tricky as most won't give that info out unless it's a "pay to dig" type property. Probably best to do a trip & have a yarn to some locals at the local while checking the area out.

Hi Bec, I live at Drake We have a property on the Rocky River Rd It is a lovely place to prospect and there is alluvial gold in all our creeks. We actually open our property as a hipcamp and have had over 40 members of a gold prospecting group stay for a weekend of prospecting. Almost everyone got some gold... I also find alot of nice minerals including Topaz while panning.

That sounds amazing, I would love to come and check out your property and stay camping for a few days. Is Hipcamp the best way to book?
