Hi all.
I am interested in getting a few kgs of rough Chrysoprase cut and cabbed (calibrated preferably), here in Australia. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions.
The cost of cutting and cabbing "a few kg" might be disadvantageous against what you would get as a return from selling the rough at around $60 a kg.
The other idea might be to present yourself at a local lapidary club and see what sort of arrangement you might be able to come to.
Cutting and cabbing by a professional outfit would be fairly damaging to the pocket but I am sure that someone else here will have better information for you.
Thailand might be an option but I think the excise tax will hurt.
Hi Pat.. I am expecting it will cost $$$, my chrysoprase is high end Marlborough... so it will be worth cutting. Thank you for your info, I appreciate it!
