MM interesting, I used to dig for old bottles once, years ago people used to have dump spots near the house mostly down hill cos it was easier. If I went on a property I'd look for broken glass old broken plates and just dig it up. it was amazing what they used to throw away.

Sounds like a mystery me. Maybe someone had an argument and threw the ring out ?

Any idea who had the property before your Mum ? I love this stuff.

From the bits of hand carved stone I've dug up, there could have been a shack on this years before the cottage was even built but the finds are too deep as I've found nothing below 1920 here. I tend to leave bottles these days, I still have about 6 bags full un sorted from the last bottle hole I swept out. Mums husband built the main house 40 odd years ago, where he used it as a butchers. It may be from the seperation between his ex, could have been the renters who half burn the cottage 15 years ago... I'm unsure of its history before the main house was built. The cottage has been extended several times, the original tiny single room hut just visible between it all, but chimney never moved site.

Great to see the Ace producing the goods for you Atom, well done on the Gold ring, and those pocket knives are also excellent finds. :)

Sooooooooooo over trying to hit the train platforms anymore.. soo much bulldozering, up to 3m-4m of overburden in many places, and very fed up with dealing with the burnt down building sites of mess along it. Popped what I could out on my last dig here, gridded several times and nothing else has shown in a while on previous hunts

1 penny 1951, 2 half pennies 1947 & 52
