Got out to Hill End for a couple of days with the family & Steveo1 + Mrs Steveo1. Camped at the Village Campground - top spot & great company.
We managed to sneak off for a bit of detecting both using SDC2300's.
I ended up with 11 littlun's + 2 speccis & Steveo1 ended up with around 20 + 3 speccis.
My gold with the bits broken out of my speccis on the 5 cent piece. Got a bit more to dolly up yet too.

Can't complain about the results. Wasn't long ago I was still trying to get my first bit out there & Stevo got his first one from Hill End this trip.

Here's Steveo1's speccis after a bit of a crack open

Those photos ROCK  and put my 4 days wandering aimlessly in the bush for a few nuggets to shame.

It is funny.......I am sure I had a dream about your finds when I was there.

Well done guys, keep it up.

Awesome. Leave them as is now they are magical?

They would be worth more in that form than the gold content alone?

Cheers

I have never got a nuggie at hill end with my beepin stick :(

Not one. .

Wun day .....

Good onya guys

Bit of an adventure today but still managed a little bit of gold. Originally I was planning on heading out to Home Rule but ended up in the complete opposite direction at Sofala/Wattle Flat. Probably should have stuck to the original plan I think. Got to Sofala & there seemed to be a lot of people about for a weekday so I headed to a spot I'd got some with the GPX5000 @ Wattle Flat so thought I'd give the SDC a run there. Not long after starting I got an "urgent call of nature". Having heard a couple of other vehicles in the scrub close by I thought it best to head back to the amenities rather than let it all hang out in a semi public area. Seeing as though I hadn't got anything I decided to head back down Sofala way rather than back into my spot as there was still a few other places I wanted to check out.
Spot 2 - junk, junk & more junk. Then I noticed a bloke had pulled up & was watching me. No big deal but about 15mins later there was 2 of them there. I don't mind the odd spectator but it was a bit off putting + I was getting sick of no gold & heaps of junk so it was time for a move.
Spot 3 - headed for a spot I'd walked around before but hadn't been back to do any detecting. Was really looking forward to having a swing about there & was sure I'd have the place to myself. Wrong - got there & some people were enjoying a horse ride right through where I wanted to detect. Oh well - they got there first :D
Left & thought I might go a bit further down & try another place I knew of but then I seen the sign - 34km to Hill End. Bugger this I thought I'm blowing this place for today & headin' for Hill End. Was a good move. Got 3 little bits & a nice specci showing some gold on all faces in a couple of hours before I had to head home. Sofala & Wattle Flat will have to wait another day

My old mate Steveo1 has been going great guns over his way with the SDC too.
His last couple of days out:

Nice work Matt and Steveo1, I'm heading out near Steveo's way on Sunday for a few days, you guys know where. :) I need to do some more exploring out there.

Thanks Heatho. Hopefully I'll get over there Tuesday too - leave pass pending :D

Kyneton - Lauriston - Malmsbury Vic area.

GPX 4500, 20" NF mono round. Deepish ground in most cases. Very faint signals in most cases - just a small break in the threashold. 12" NF pinged some smaller pieces on a patch clean up. 8x6 NF mono - nil. The larger piece - very close to discounting as ground noise but it was just too consistent although deep, sitting on a layer of red clay. Big coil, deep ground - winner.

well done mxt sniper,.. good to hear about things over the other side of the big lake,... nice looking bits you've found.

great finds well done

we wife and I still trying to figure out what way to with our new detector , er proposed new detector

we have never found anything that big here in Vic but have found that size in WA with our 2100

Exception about 20 years ago wife found 2oz nugget at lannely with FT1600 the only nugget she ever found with that machine and she found it within 5 mins of using the detector it was down about 6 inches on clay on undug ground
