Well it's been on my bucket list of things that I wanted to find & today finally got one!
A trading token namely a:
R.Parker Ironmonger penny token (circa 1857) from Geelong Victoria!
Amazingly it was found in a tiny park in the Southern Highlands NSW.
As you can see its a bit rough...
I use an AT Pro and love it.
Have found some great stuff with it!
Its fully waterproof so you can keep on hunting when it starts raining,
good on the beach as it ground balances pretty well.
If your keen you can go underwater up to 10 feet providing you upgrade the headphones.

Good luck with the hunt for the gold stuff. If you feel like your son is losing interest get down to a local soccer field and run the detector along the side line,
he'll be sure to pick up a couple of goldies ($1 & $2 coins).
