Where to pan for gold around ACT?

Hi everyone,
I'm a homeschool mum in Canberra, and the kids and I are studying gold this term. Can anyone recommend a good place I can take the kids panning for gold around Canberra/ACT?
We're just out to have some fun and get the experience of panning.

Can be remote/4WD-accessible...

Oallen Ford was where we started panning. It is a great place for kids if the river is not running too fiercely and every pan had gold in it.
The only problem was that the gold was so small that ,even at the end of the day, the total amount was still insignificant.
Still, for a pleasant spot that will always yield a bit of colour Oallen Ford is worth a look.
