Well I had last Sunday off so I packed up the boys for a one dayer out at Glendon.
I was mainly heading out to get a few more rocks for the retaining I am building but I also planned to get a couple of bkts of dirt for me to play in.
Man what a day, near killed me, hot and I mean hot. Too hot for snakes to come out and I think I was the only flaming fool out doing this.
I lugged out a few boulders from a new place that I am now searching and I can tell you they were heavy.
I managed a dozen or so, so when I thought I had enough now I needed to get a few bkts of dirt to take home and process.
Finally got home and was amazed I had only spent 3 hrs getting the rocks and dirt and also taking a dip in the properties lake it didn't so bad after all.

A couple more boulders added and a long way to go.

I manage to sieve this lot down to 6 bkts of 1/2" fines.

So today we headed out my favourite little spot to wash the dirt while the boys swam in the creek.

Alex enjoying himself.

Big brother Zac having a cool dip.

Todays loot, don't know the weight but it was good to get out and quench the thirst for Au fever.

I need a few more rocks soon, so another trip will soon come about.
Cheers

hi mate, im back in toowoomba and that nearlly makes me wanna go for dig ey...nice one

Nice work on all fronts, that looks like a nice amount for the effort. May pay to be a bit more precise when collecting the next load. Could be a concentration nearby ?

I am fairly thorough when collecting, I use a brush and I can tell you I will leave the crevices pretty clean.
I was pondering the use of a dry blower but the material dug clung together, it is dry enough but needed to be separated.
I have I the past got nuggety gold from that area so I will continue to sweep my way along the bedrock.
Cheers
Brad..

great stuff Brad and nice colour for your efforts.

One little trick with the dry blower is to stomp on the dirt once you have loosened it from the ground, this breaks up those little clumps enough to run through the blower

Cheers,
Matt

Thanks aushunter, it was not meant at your thoroughness I am sure that is well and truly covered. More so on taking a note of location of sample GPS point etc... Sampling them separate to see if an area is producing higher results that was more my meaning. In saying that I am sure you do this anyway :)

Keep up the good work

Nice day for the boys all around, nice tail in that pan, not bad from half a dozen buckets, I would be definitely moving more boulders.

Cheers, Tone

Well I got the OK to head on out this coming Sunday, So we will certainly load up a couple more bkt loads and add a few more boulders to the rock wall project,
