Where are you located Blocker? I'd be happy to swap produce for lemons.

Sorry about the delay, been otherwise occupied. Warabrook a suburb of Newcastle NSW. Probably a bit far apart for any swaps. Which is a bit of a shame because right now I have a lot of lemons.
May I ask how you achieved the size of your lemons, has the size increased from what you have fed the original tree or have you re-grown trees from the seeds of your largest lemons?
Just figured out how to include a location, should have done that earlier.

Covid, syphilis and bird flu won't stop you growing tomatoes :Y: Cold might though. My experiment with the pawpaw and candle was inconclusive. A bloody snail ate it :/

Goldfreak, surely you would have imagined a farmbot setup in a hab like mine but bigger by now ...
that looks good but I would rather some one else buy it and I don't think I would leave it out in the sun and rain. If you could have one that drives around a large green house might be worth while.

Still a bit sore from the other day but am using my time to plant out some seedlings into pots. The bottom five pictures from the net and are some of the plants I have there. Some of them slightly phallic so pg recommended :playful:

Planted 3 tress I bought from Bunnings about 3-4 years ago. A dwarf Eureka, a Lisbon and a (normal) Eureka. All 3 are on grafted root-stock. The large lemons come off the Eureka, Not all of the lemons are large just a few scattered amongst the others. Haven't been trying to grow large ones deliberately they just turn up and I don't think I've done anything special, as I had never grown fruit trees before, I just researched and followed what seemed to be qualified advice.

they are certainly big lemons you have there :Y: Do the big ones always come of the same branch or is it random all over the tree?

Good question, they seem to come from what I would call the back of the tree on a different number of branches. My back yard is not an ideal yard for gardening with limited full sunlight and where these grow is somewhat shaded from the sunlight that does reach them. I'll grab the camera and see if I can send you some photos.

Follow the fruiting branch down and see if it's coming from below or at the graft. If it's coming from above the graft you might have yourself a lucky mutation. Odds are small but if so I would make some grafts from that mutation onto anouther tree for safe keeping.

I picked up early that any shoots below the graft should be removed, and with the heavy cropping I have been periodically removing lower branches anyway to stop them dragging on the ground. Just been out to try and get some photos and it struck me that the very large fruit may have been individual specimens on particular branches. Photos coming just got to do resizing.

Just found a bunch of 3 hiding and they weighed 320, 341, and 366 gms so all of them over twice the size of Jaros's largest so the theory of singular fruit on a branch may not be right.

Do any of the more experienced of you, remove some of the developing fruit from large bunches to improve the quality of remaining fruit?

Some progress on the hab..

As soon as I open the hatch the humidity starts to fall.
Once it drops below 78% with a 1 minute delay, the humidifier kicks in (jet of vapour coming out the little pipe below the fan).
1597134584_20200811_182102_compress73.jpg

I have a low humidity alarm set at 50% and a high at 90%.
Soil temps set at 22 degrees (sensors on the right).
Solved the heat mat problem by having it flat on the insulated floor but I still have to sync the fan speed with the amount of soil surface area, and that has to be in sync with the maximum the de-humidifier can de-humidify...
