There have always been rumours of vikings etc but I havent seen anything from a more mainstream source. I would love to be doing the exploration work though.

I am very sceptical as the local tribes would make short work of them.

I would ask for why would they build here,
even if blown of course, they would make every effort to get out.

Fascinating stuff, thanks Cheese. I feel lucky to live in a time when definitive info about the global dispersal of human populations is at last becoming available via DNA analysis and interpretation.

The Archeologist quoted is a real professor at Sydney Uni, but I suspect that is the only true part of the story. I might email him tomorrow and ask!

Now I am no expert on WA geology but the photo of the ruins in that pic looks like it is in a very different climate than the north coast of WA....just sayin'

And if viking remains had been found buried with weapons and artefacts the whole country would have heard about it before now
