LC you do just as a hobby ? To produce from an old spring and a potato sack to what you have  Take my hat off to you :Y:

Lovely work. Are you using epoxy or polyester resin? i don't know where you live, but if on the coast locate a surfboard maker and try his resin; it will be crystal clear and if you like it, ask for his supplier.

Thanks Bobh, yes its polyester resin from Bunnings https://www.bunnings.com.au/protite-500g-fibreglass-resin_p1560652

But I plan on getting Epoxy resin in a larger amount from these guys who have a great reputation.

Plenty of resin suppliers on ebay and some are offering free postage

Just be aware that with epoxy it is much more critical to get your mix ratios correct, especially if you are only mixing small amounts, as the percentage error will be much greater in a small amount.

Hey everyone.
This little knife is basically a copy of the "Buck Mini Alpha Hunter"

I just really liked the knife and had to make it.

This one I've decided will be a gift for my mate/best man at my wedding.
I never gave him a gift for his role in that awesome day, so hopefully he likes it.

Great work there lc76. I think you can answer a question I have been wondering about. If you wanted to put a long cylindrical handle on a tool with a long flat tang how would you build it up to a cylinder ? I would like to do this and maintain strength.

without a picture to go by....I would probably cut a length of wooden pole down the middle and pin or glue the halves to either side of the tang and put that into the cylinder and pack/fill with a resin/glue.

Or weld some all thread to the tang so you can put a bolt on the end.

I got my new belt grinder the other day so this morning I got up early to have a play and made this little edc ..this little knife is made from 1084 steel jarrah handle with green liner ( looks blue in pic) I enjoy knife making as much as prospecting in my free time I'm either doing one or the other.....

This one's now complete.
A mate has claimed this one.
Cheeky bugger was asking questions about it while I was distracted doing the finishing touches and asked how much I was going to sell it for.

Soon as I said the price I was thinking of he claimed it, I tried to offer him mates rates but he insisted on paying the full price.
