All jokes aside I may just have to buy a postie bike as well now....heaps of them at Auctions here almost every week and not very expensive, will give me something to work on rather than scouring (wasting time on) the internet all morning for cool looking motorbikes.

For where you're going in the Leonora region, and for the missus to take to work you're making a wise decision. Postie will serve you perfectly. With the gold you find you can buy a T Rex and come over to the Kimberly with us the following year if you like. ;)

Tks for the offer Wal...hopefully it will be one of many trips to follow.

There are usually heaps available at gov auctions as well. Set of knobbys and switch into lowrange and they will climb a mountain :)

Wal,
At least with something that big you might be able to put a blade on the front to clear the spinifex, my son lives in Newcastle and I will txt him and ask where he gets his tubes from.....Cheers

Wife has been bugging me to get a scooter, and ive been looking at a small bike I can put on the trailer for when I go gold hunting. Then I see Wal using a T-Rex in the field and has got me interested. Now im thinking I can kill 2 birds with the one stone. She only has to travel about 10km at 4am in the morning. They say its road legal. Im loving the big wheels for goat track stuff......hoping someone has seen these and may have an opinion. Would be great for my WA trip.

Im thinking I could kit it out to carry detector and a few other bits to get me a bit further, and shut the wife up.....theres your scooter hun! She'll be the coolest chick in town.
Looks like you will be staying in a tent after you get all the smaller toys Pete

Went to the Auctions today and got the postie bike......however out of the blue was an RV 125....just couldn't help myself. I think the T Rex is modelled on this one and at $600 she's all mine!

Now I have 3 motorbikes......better sell one to pay for these purchases!!!

Told the wife she can use the postie bike, the RV 125 is my new project. I think I found T Rex's grandfather bike. Love those fat tyres you will hear me for miles in WA!!!

Lookin good Twapster!
I learned to ride on my grandfathers postie ( Honda 90) when I was a wee young fella and had to have a block of wood at the house to get off it as my feet couldn't touch the ground. My legs stretched straight out could reach the brake but I had to pull up next to the block of wood and slide forward off the seat to get off. If I fell off up the paddock it meant a long walk home! :D
W lived on very steep, rocky country and I walked lots back then ha ha
A tip if you are carrying a detector whilst riding is instead of slinging it over your shoulder/back, sling it across your chest. Reason being if you do fall off you can protect it a bit more as you drop your shoulder to absorb the impact of the ground. I carry a rifle this way when hunting off a bike.
Enjoy mate and hope you have a ball with your new toys!!! :D
Cheers,
Billy.

if you want to sell the RV125 please inbox me mate

Tks for the offer, will be my project for a while. Selling my GT 250 soon...that was a real money pit project...had the engine rebuilt, blue slipped and has sat under the tarp for last 2 years. Bike cost me $3500 for a bike that's prob only worth 1k to others. Will be on ebay in next week or 2.
