I often wonder what happened to the "Woods Flat Nugget" that was in the mining museum at the rocks in Sydney years ago?

Golden Eagle
Shape looks wrong for the 25.5 kg Golden Eagle (or the Hand of Faith). Given the paucity of nuggets that size and the apparent publicity - is it real?

sorry did a search but nothing came up
the search is only a keyword search anyway so its not very good.

yeah so how you guys selling your gold?
ebay? mint? who buys this stuff?

how to make money

Ebay and Gumtree, but they can be problematic with fees and scammers.

The forum for sale section sees a fair amount of gold sold.

P.W. Beck is good to deal with and gives a fair price.

Most towns in the gold fields you'll usually be able to find a buyer or be able to trade gold for services.

The mint yes, but as a last resort as you can usually get better with smaller gold buyers or by selling privately.

If you have something special, keep it quite and approach a broker or if you know of a good buyer approach them directly. Some collectors will pay extra if it has not been flashed all over the web.

ebay has some good buyers but postage deliverer even with tracking and online wallet mob can give some grief.

haven't been hit by scammers yet but lots of info online if you smell a rat.

Where does one sell gold & get the best price?

Your location makes a difference. There are a few places in WA where you can get spot price less 10% for nuggets. Then it makes a difference if you want to be paid in cash. Gold that has been melted down is a bit harder to sell than nuggets.

P.W Beck are the go, they refine the gold and pay you the actual value less about 2%. They also sort out freight and insurance etc.
really painless transaction.

Have noticed Lloyds auctions have nuggets for sale recently down Gosford way I think.
