Found this scout badge yesterday, I have done a bit of an internet search wondering where it would have been used, but cant find anything.
It has what looks like an old weld on the bottom end, with some old grind marks. It is double sided so I an guessing that it may have been the top of a flag stick but not too sure can anyone shed some light?

Dob Dob Dob AR.
Yeh not sure either mate, like RJ said it looks like to top of a pole, im going to give it back to the scout group where I found it, they might find it interesting and maybe know where its from.

Hey Guys,

Being a Scout for far too many years I can confirm that that is a flag pole emblem, usually they have a little metal cap on the bottom for a thick wooden pole to slide into. As this one demonstates they would often break off and be welded back on, until they broke off again, and were welded back on(if they were found)

That one, judging by the design could be 50's or 60's, but it could have been in service til very recently.

Thanks for the confirmation Marauder, however I do think Silvers explanation seems a bit more plausible

Thanks for that. it was found in the Illawarra region, south coast NSW. In a park adjacent to rarely used scout hall.
