Pacemaker and detectors

Hi all , my mate`s just had a pace maker fitted in his chest and is concerned about whether he should go near his detector anymore ,
Anyone with experience here still detecting with a pace maker ? or is it too risky
doctors wont say / dont know nor does Minlab

any advise appreciated

I have one. It's fine for me. Just don't go putting the coil etc up against it. Keep a bit of distance.
