A short hunt closer to home this morning ,before the rain got me
Have had a go at cleaning off some of the crust from the other side of yesterdays find
Been using a toothpick.
GP suggested it could be George 3rd
This is as close as i could find . Practically the same condition too :lol:

Nice collection of silvers Sandta (and those nasty rivet things), I suspected your other coin was a George III, the obverse pretty much confirms it - on ya.
I had an unexpected day off today, so headed back to the old farm i visited last friday
It was pretty easy to find where i left off, as there was a sheet of corregated iron there
I CAREFULLY (for fear of snakes)moved the sheet of iron , and started swinging.... BAM ...
First target ... Coin...
Another 1805 George III penny
Second coin about 10 feet away
1826 George IV penny
Not sure if this is a stop watch or fob watch ?
Nice old button... pretty sure we have had one the same on here before
And an assortment of pennies
A few buckles and bullets
Got a surprise with the tap fitting
Tried to push the dirt out with my digger , but it was solid ...
Theres a penny inside it :lol:
Not sure what this thing is , but its a bloody good chunk of brass

Some wonderful old coins there Sandta, the thickness of the first coin should be a giveaway on whether it is an 1805 or earlier cartwheel type (say a 1797 two pence).

If memory serves the cartwheel penny weighs an ounce and the 2p is 2 ounces so probably is a later penny right enough if it's lighter
