Mount Gibson ~ Queensland

Heading to Townsville for a specialist appointment and decided on the way home (Hervey Bay) to head out to Mount Gibson before stopping at Sapphire. ?
Anyone been there recently and know what the roads are like?

The only Mount Gibson I find on Google maps is north of Harvey Range Road west of Townsville. It looks like it is pretty close to the military practice area which takes up a huge amount of country on both sides of Harvey Range Road around there. Possibly even in the out of bounds military area?

What is there at Mount Gibson to attract your attention?

The Harvey Range Road is all sealed and usually in excellent condition and is very light with traffic. We last drove it in August 2019 when it was just fine.

Wrong Mt Gibson Normanby river you must get past the keeper of the keys not easy.... road to Mt Gibson is HDR past homestead is 4wd only I am 24 kms past homestead I will assume nstone is only going to see R&R not to where gold is if you are going 4gold I will see u at my camp
