I am a retired Workplace Health and Safety Officer and looking forward to getting out in the bush after 20 years in an office sorting out stupid things people do in the workplace. So if I get gold ok if I don't I have had a relaxing day in the bush.

Hi GD, welcome to the forum. There is plenty of info here. Are you mainly interested in wet prospecting with the sluice and pan, or dry prospecting with a detector?

Drop bears, scorpions, centipedes, blue ringed octopuses, red back and funnel web spiders, kangaroos on the road plus the occasional idiot. perfectly safe here and we don't have many earthquakes which is good.

HAHAHA Drop bears I only told my daughter about them the other day. Needless to say she was checking every tree in the bush HAHAHA. Welcome GD
