I want to make a sieve (grader) to get down to the smaller material to run through my river sluice quicker.

What do you guys use? Mesh/screens? I already have a 1/4 inch sieve from bunnings
Please send me your ideas or pictures of what you have.
This will be for the fine gold in the shoalhaven river.

Awesome link! I would be using this after my 1/4 inch size classifier. So fly screen in large enough for the fine flour gold and black sand to fall through?

Hay Nick,
I'd just run the 1/4" through the sluice and classify the cons down smaller before you pan them out.
Classifying smaller than 1/4" will take time away from sluicing and may exclude any small nuggets( unlikely you'll get any big stuff in the Shoalhaven but not impossible).
The more volume of pay dirt you put through the better your possible return.
Your sluice, if set up correctly, should handle the 1/4" quite easily.
As for a clean up sieve for use before panning out the cons, I use a cheap mesh colander from the local $2 shop.
