I recently moved to Sydney from Melbourne to start a new job. I have a Tesoro Compadre metal detector that I bought earlier in the year. I'm probably more interested in getting into the search for coins etc than gold.
Being new to Sydney (and metal detecting), does anyone have any advice regarding beginner locations around north Sydney (~Epping). Do I need a permit etc to test out the Compadre in the local parks? What about at Sydney's beeches?
I like bottle hunting along creeks as well... getting into snake season now though....
