I recently dug down about 14in with the 4500 and got a 1863 halfpenny with what looked like a bullet stuck right in the middle of it. I could just make out the date and the top part of Queen Victoria's head. Only coin I've found apart from a 20c piece.

Found an 1821 English penny with the sdc on the slope of a worked gully. Looked like a good area for a camp. Was more targets about. Have to go back and dig the rest

Detecting I saw this, and immediately thought it was an ignition distributor condenser.
Found on a quartz blow on top of a minor hill, about 300m from lower diggings.
Best description: An aluminium sixpence coin container attached to a private post office box key.
2 x sixpence edges are visible, the uppermost one visible dated 1945.
Probably latter dates this at 1960's to '70's, for use in the bakelite A or B select GPO Post Office Public phones in the corner Red Phone box!!
Before Telecom, er Telstra....

I do have quite a collection of coins, dated around 1824 - 1924.
I stop and think some old codger was minus a bed and a pint, particularly with my favourite a King George silver Penny H'penny (Halfpenny).
Have florins, pennys, half penny's, sixpenses, shillings and a very nice very small copper farthing with a wren depicted. 1945.
