I can see what looks like Mica in the left of the pic, but most of it does look like Gold!

Recommend that you simply test it with an ohmmeter. Much looks like gold to me.

Update: All mica except two decent flakes.

I took it out and tested it with tweezers. The stuff "wrote" on the paper I had it on.

I also managed to get some gold today out of the Shoalhaven river and compared them. Clearly different.

Thats true Eric , once you seen the real stuff you will never be tricked again . The fact some of it was gold is still very positive and worth doing more work on the spot. When you learn the spots where gold hides there is bound to be more there is better quantities
