can anyone tell me what the big lead piece top right in pic would have been used for as it weights nearly 1oz to big for a bullet
thanks richard

quite a haul there thebeans

bit hard to tell what that is, you will always find bit of lead that have been through fires and end up mangled up could be anything

Found some lead rounds that were intact and some like this bit hard to tell but to me looks like a projectile from a snider rifle.

Looks like a bullet that's struck something hard like a rock. Found lots of lumps of lead like that near a firing range. I'm no ammo expert. Just did a google search though and it seems a solid slug form a 12 gauge could explain it as they range from a 7/8 slug to 3 ounces. An 8 gauge shotgun would be even bigger

thanks nuggetino
still not sure but if it is a 3 ounces slug god help what that hits
