Hi Bogger,
Your Galaxy note will be fine for both Aircraft. :) :)
The camera's are not interchangeable on a mavic.
As Simmo said, The Phantom 4 Pro has the ducks nuts of camera's for both pictures and video.
The only draw back on mine is the size and I went for that for more stability and also the camera.
You will be quite fine with a Mavic. :)
They are like an SDC. Swiss army knife folding. :Y: :Y: :Y:
Don't worry too much about the image quality. They are still damned impressive with what they have
and if you want to improve a shot, You can use a picture editor program to adjust to your hearts content.
These Drone's are just as bad as choosing a metal detector. ]:D ]:D
But like any thing, You get what you pay for.
And DJI are the best at the moment.
Forget the spark. It is a small quickie compared to the models we are talking about.

I'm presuming you can use a galaxy note 8 as screen from my readings ? Are cameras standard or can you get with better quality cams ?

Cheers

I recently got a Hubsan H501s x 4 brushless advanced for $260.
Vide0 quality not quite up there with the DJI range, but neither is the price.

It has headless mode, GPS, Follow me mode, Return to Home etc, and a flight time of 20 minutes.
Have had it up to 180m high, will wait to gain some experience before I take it higher.

My first ever flight, excuse the jerkiness, it is me trying the controls.

Cheers for all the info :Y: I'm only favoring the Note 8 as have a couple already and was good to see their up there in the specs area ;)

And,
Only buy from an Australian company or DJI themselves.
What can happen is you can be fooled into buying a "Good Deal " appearing
to be here in OZ only to have the drone "Drop Shipped" over here.
When you go for registration or warranty claims, It will not be supported by
DJI.
If you see a good deal, Ask for their phone number and also check out their
location carefully.
We can help you there. :) :)
Wish I had a Galaxy note too.

The reason I chose the Hubsan as an entry level was no phone required, it comes with a transmitter with FPV etc

The reason why I chose a Phantom 4 Pro, :Y: :D
Just a few nice photo's of the Bega Valley.
Taken from 120 meters above my friends place.
I have not touched them up as I preferred to show their native mode.

I love that eagle's eye view from altitude, where you feel like you can almost see the curvature of the earth. :)
That's some good-looking countryside you've got over that way, too. Now I understand why my favourite cheese is so nice! :Y:

Kogan is not on the list , thats good, but they are having a sale , don't look at their site , the factory refurbished DGI4 around the $1000 and Mavic is around the $1400 mark, the DGI4 pro must be their top range model , not much change out of $2800. So many models with different features , the mavic is lighter so does it get affected by the wind when in flight it looks like the swiss army model fold out when required
they are all brilliant toys

Mavic owners dont do the update!!!
My mavic is pretty much bricked atm.....
Video feed freezes, goes black and white, says disconnected. When you turn it on it says flight has been limited to 30 mtrs by 50 mtrs. Take off anyway with out video and it has 'take off error, contact DJI' Heaps of errors.

It is interesting about the updates. Many people have had issues with several P4 updates but every time I do it I have had zero problems. All works as it should.
Lucky me I guess.

I've done every update since I got it and no worries??
This update I was really looking forward to because they've added pano's...
I'm buggerising around with it now reinstalling stuff... not happy Jan...!

I thank you Doug for reviving a long lost memory. As a very young rep, I remember now taking orders for Kamaruka Cheese as in those days we could buy direct from the shop. I would return home from my trip with a boot load of 2kg square slabs.
Kind Regards
Mackka :Y:

My Father was raised in the Kamaruka Factory house.
He was born in Moruya as they had to go up there to
Mogendura for a months work.
His family, all of them were born, raised and lived there and
Grandfather worked in the factory as a Cheese Maker.
I can still remember them making cheese and I took
the last load of machinery out in 1979.
All taught at Kameruka School.
I have a lot of stories past down to me by my Father.

When I first got my P4 Pro replaced, The first update bricked it.
Had to send it back.
Apparently there was an issue.
Does updates flawlessly now.
