Hi all,
Thanks to the good advice on this forum.
Took the family up to the gold museum and historical village last weekend. It is awesome for kids of all ages, I would highly recommend it.
Then the important bit, christened my new pans (birthday present) at deep creek on the way home. First time panning and loved it. Found a couple of tiny specks in my third pan and caught the bug. What I found was super fine (in my limited experience) but gold is gold! We didn't do anything too extensive, just dug where others had in the river bank.
My panning technique is super slow - once I noticed it was so fine I slowed down. Is it a good idea to pan slowly where it is fine, or is there one technique for all spots?
Thanks again for the advice from the forum.
Rusty
