Winds of up to 110km/h are possible as far north as Cape Grenville or as far south as Cape Tribulation if there were slight changes in the track to north or south.

cane railway bridge we drive over during the crush ,it is about a 30 foot drop to the water line on splitters creek just up the back of me

the bridge did not go under in the 2013 floods, the water backs up from the burnett river, the water in the 13 floods came to the girders but it was still water not flowing

Influences RM... For cyclones to develop the ocean temperature must be very warmexceeding 26.5 C to a depth of about 60 m. If the air is also humid and unstable enough to allow thunderstorms to very high altitudes then the updrafts associated with the storms create an area of low pressure near the sea surface. Hence a TC will form.. and this is what is happening in the Northern waters of Australia ATM..

Plus thats what all the Weather Models are predicting like in Simmo's map above...

And being in a 'Mature' La Nina the chances of more than average number of Cyclones is looking very likely while La Nina is around.....

And more severe weather events for the North and East coast, like what we just got in QLD, are to continue till Autumn ... :argh:

Amazing Beasts, But you can never tell as they are sometimes quite unpredictable ....

Here is the Cyclone predictions for 2022...

Nice shots SS.

not my piccys mackka, gregory river one was sent to me from a mate over that way and the train bridge was sent to my son from a mate of his that lives just down the road from the bridge

where i live mackka any major rain event like that we get stranded ,can't get to bundaberg, gin gin or childers, sometimes only a day or so but other times like 2013 it was three weeks, so there is always at least a months supply of tucker and other essentials  fuel for the generators, on hand just in case
