Hit the same place again today bafter yesterdays encouraging results and did pretty well again after finding a few pre dec hotspots, ended up with 12 penny's, 4 half penny's, 1 florin, 1 sixpence and 1 threepence. Also scored an old copper ring, a buckle of some sort and about $35. There was a bit of junk but not a huge amount. Also got a really old Lesney car of some sort, though it's seen better days. :)

That's the one Gary, not that there's anything wrong with my current pinpointer but the Garrett AT has a couple of features that the minelab doesn't have which would make it a bit nicer to use, the minelab can false a bit in some types of ground.

Of course you have the pinpointer on the 3030 as well. Is it too inaccurate for you? If that is the case does the hand held one put your right in the zone of the object?

I always use the pipointer on the 3030 Gary, then I use the hand held probe to get right in very close to the target to minimise any damage, I usually hunt sportsfield sidelines and want to make as little damage as possible. Generally you'd never even know the ground had been disturbed after I detect a spot, it really helps for quick target recovery as well.

Hit the old honey hole today because I forgot to recharge my battery last night and I was short of time to drive to the spot I was at the last couple of days. It's still producing, though I thought I'd try with the 17" coil to see what stuff it could find that the 11" missed, anyway I ended up with $16, a rare 47 florin, 2 sixpence, 4 penny's and 3 half penny's, also got B5mech's mangled silver rings mangled twin..... Looks almost the same, lol.

Another pretty decent hunt.

Another florin 8) Love the ring  :Y: the South Narra kid got beaten for his lunch money   It must be an inter school park :Y:

Haha, yeah numerous schools use these ovals for inter school sports, bound to have been at least 1 Narrabeen kid go face down into the mud. :D Yeah another 47 florrie, they've been reasonably common at this site, though I think I've actually found more silver rings there than florins. The ring is a beauty, same as yours, wish I knew what type of stone was in it.

That site just keeps on giving, especially that rare 47' florin! :D Seems like you have a way to go yet before "cleaning" it out, well done. :)

Thanks again fellas, yeah there can be good weeks and bad weeks, this week is not bad at all. :)

I reckon it's the bit of rain we've had also, the soil is reasonably damp, not wet but nicely damp, when it's like that the deep targets seem to come to life, we've speculated on the forum that it makes a difference and I'm certain it does by making the ground more conductive or something. Seems to work everytime.

I keep thinking it's done GP but then when I go back with a different coil or different direction it starts paying again. Plus the rain we've had, I think the silvers just come alive in damp soil.
