Now most of us on here are pushing on a bit but we were once a fair bit younger and our bodies could do a lot more than they can do now....

Some folk have really pushed the limits of our anatomical capabilities to the point where you just have to manually pick your jaw off the floor when you witness what they can do.

Or they simply push the envelope forward and try new things.

This thread is a homage to the dedicated and inspirational people that show the rest of us what our piles of protoplasm are capable of... :D

Please add any videos that make you want to get off the couch and try a little harder! (Jaros gets a pass!)

Granted there are a few fakes in the above video(Pepsi for example) but dont let that take anything away from the legit folks showing us whats doing.

Thing is many of us have disabilities that will us to let to us to do the stuff we would like to do.

That just about sums me up a lot of the time. After close on 40 years hard yakka as a diesel mechanic working on trucks, agricultural machinery and mining gear, the body sends out protest messages some days and as much as I would like to keep on doing all those things that I once did, reality says "no, don't even attempt it".

I can still climb down a 52' ladder most days and most importantly, I can climb back up and at near on 70 years of age, I rate myself as reasonably fit for an old fart, but I do know my limitations and don't let ambition try to tell me otherwise.

There are a lot of things that I wish I had tried during my life, but I will put them on hold until the next one or the one after that.

G'day snafu,
You do know what they say about men over 50 climbing ladders don't you? :playful:

But then again I'm 57 and I still climb wire rope ladders, abseil down mineshafts and surf.
I've got a lot of battle injuries due to work and play but I always still give it a go.
Cheers Steve :Y:

You will have to enlighten me, Steve, I've led a sheltered life and not familiar with that one.

I used to be over 140 kg, and have lost a fair bit of weight in the last 10 years or so.

I dont lift as heavy these days, as Im 60, but still go to the gym regularly to keep my diabetes in control.

A big inspiration for me is my personal trainer I had when I was a fat bastard.

Here he is about to squat reps at 290kg. He is in his 40s and holds quite a few world powerlifting records in his age group.

Hey Jaros, just put less on ya plate hehehe. I am trying to find one of those portion plates as I also am in need of some weight loss. Problem is I love to cook and love to eat especially pasta dishes.

Hi Folks.

Remember that old film called Caddyshack with Bill Murray? The pool scene where hes cleaning up a Richard the third still cracks me up. Well it happened today with a slight twist. I go to the pool and swim a km every day through the swimming season to get just a little bit of fitness. Today my wife who was swimming in the next lane stopped me and said that there was a chocolate bar on the bottom of the pool. One of the lifesavers rescued it but unfortunately it wasnt a chocolate bar. Only got half a km under my belt and just seemed to loose the passion to go on. Funny how we find all sorts of excuses to stop doing what we should as we get older.

Cheers
