sorry mate not a bell. I think I gave the clue it was a town clock as reefer said but who's clock was it?

I have to go to Sydney now and don't want to make you all wait.

The answer is the new Town Hall clock for Menzies WA. It had made it to Australia from England aboard the Orizaba but was lost off Rottnest Island en route to Fremantle to unload.
This was a question that needed a bit of research and was a bit too hard . Sorry about that.

I think reefer should have a go as he was the closest. :)

thanks goldtruck59...phew! scraped in by the skin o' me teeth  will need a bit of time to think. back in a jiffy or two.

In 2010 an old mine shaft from a Gold Mine opened in the middle of a busy road in a suburban street in Melbourne revealing a huge cavity. It was closed up again with steel plates.
Can you name the suburb.??

Not a nice bloke that fella.

Who am I? I am one of 8 kids born to an emigrant family and might have been the first white man to go walkabout.
