It's been a year since I found my last but finally the eagle buckle appeared...found the star one about 50metres away...

Very nice finds, were they from the goldfields and have you had the chance to get them dated - civil war era maybe? :)

Yeah both came from the top edge of a hydraulic sluicing area...old glass around, no chimney, and I think half of the flat spot was washed away....so maby from an earlier camp before sluicing? I was no Burke and wills here as the site has been know and detected for years, and easy to get to...just hung around went slow and after a few hours got lucky.....Mind was racing all the way home thinking who and what this guy had done..

Taussig & pollack San Francisco ...1855-1856....they changed names after 56...they owned a few one stop supply shops for diggers in America..
