A bullet or not a bullet?

I found this in suburban Perth park.

Diameter is about 11.6mm
Length is about 16.5mm

It feels like lead.

It's got a spot on the back which looks like corrosion.

Is it a bullet or not?

I think you should be looking for a body, perhaps just a weathered mound of soil

Sure looks like a bullet to me but I don't know one from the next.

I also found an old bicycle bell, a dinky toy, a bong cone and about $1.45 in coins but no body.....

There you go, you answered your own question, bonged out shooter with a toy gun and a bike for a getaway vehicle, obviously fell of his bike when getting away and the bell fell off and the coins spilled from his pocket!

looks like .45 cal projectile from a pistol to me, very old as the lead is very oxidised.

My guess would be its a projectile from a .455 Weberly and post 1939 when they started issuing jacketed projectiles.

11.6mm equates to about .45 inches. That could make it a revolver round.

it would not be a blackpowder round as it is jacketed, blackpowder rounds were solid lead.
Also not a 44 magnum as the slugs from them are actually .429 (10.9mm).
Its from either a 45 ACP or 455 Weberly, the fact that it doesn't have a solid base tends to make me think the later.

I find quite a few casings but rarely the projectile. About 50:1 ratio I reckon.
