Part of the rock I found multiple nugs in.https://www.prospectingaustralia.com/forum/img/member-images/5620/1448785202_image.jpg

nice chuky boy, would you have dollied it up if you couldnt see the specs? Whens a hot rock not a hot rock!!!

Thanks stru. I usually crack the rocks in half. If a rock has gold in it one half of rock will generally signal louder than the initial signal.

With hot rocks both halves of the rock will signal softer than the first signal.

This does not mean to say that the two bits of rock won't have gold in them. Make sure you turn the rocks over when you pass them over the coil as if gold is on topside of the rock it won't signal as loud as if it were on the bottom. :|
Sorry if this is slightly confusing I'm not the best at explaining things.

This was my hot rock from the weekend

Clean white quartz

Eureka  :D

Thanks guys, I got excited when the big rock I kicked away held the target. Was thinking finally the SDC may have broken the gram barrier. :p even hidden behind that white stuff it sung a clear pick-me tune.

This is the rest of the SDC treasure from my weekend at Hill End and some alluvial from Reeks' 'Lunch Money Creek'.

We've collected a few little noisy rocks. They have to wait until we get home so that I can knock up a crusher or dollypot. This little one didn't stick to the pick magnet so just took a bit of spit to reveal what was hiding inside.

That one should produce a nice big flat nugget Moneybox by the looks of those smaller specs showing through.

Are you going to acid bath that one?

With a bit more exploring 'lunch money creek' might have to be re-named 'fuel money creek' ;)

Could be Reece, could be ;) but 'blood sucking creek' also came to mind

No Wally not a chance. Earlier in the year Mrs M found one in laterite. It had little gold points showing through everywhere. I told her I was going to just squeeze it a bit to knock the rock off. I used the pliers and squeezed it one way then turned it 90 deg and squeezed it again. It shattered into about 20 little golden species and I keep hearing about it :8

She won't let me touch this one ;)
