Awesome NG you've just proved once again boots on the ground in the right place pays dividends :Y:. You've been so consistent which results in all of us enjoying your success I'll happily buy you a beer if we ever meet.

Merry Christmas.

Oh forgot to ask did you do a happy dance :) I would have that's for sure.

Well done Bjay on the finds, worth sticking it out for.

NG, so happy to see the last post. You were bound to get a great slug like that after all the hours of coil to the soil, sooner or later you had to pluck a great piece as there's not many little ones left where you've been lol.
Well deserved

Ok so I may have said I was gunna ease up on the posts but today was too good not to share. The Mrs said I had to babysit for her tonight so I only had two hours to shoot out the bush for a quick detect. Tried a new spot which I hadnt been to before and picked up a little tacker in the first hour. With 15 minutes to spare I got a nice signal under a small stick I had just kicked out of the way. About 15 or 16 inches later this ripper poked its head out of the ground. What a christmas present :D

Nothing Great, mate would you be kind enough to tell us if you are finding this in hammered ground( old digging`s) or have you found a nice virgin patch out there somewhere, and it seems since you went with the 4500 things have really changed, i myself have an old machine, and am getting a little tired of getting skunked, so will probably have to buy a 4500 for my self, how is the machine, take time to get ya head around it?

Just in state forests mate. All flogged grounds. I Havent found a patch yet just single nuggets left behind by others I assume.
Mate I love the 4500 since I got the 12 evo for it. I had mega dramas with the settings the shop gave (there is no way you could use it in victoria) but since being showed by another prospector how to set it up its been awesome. Just turn it on and ground balance and off ya go.

Managed a few hours this afternoon after finishing work, wind blowing hard, EMI driving me nuts and the threat of rain.
I could not run my usual settings on the 12" evo so for the first time since having the 4500 I was forced to play with other settings and glad I did, no loss of sensitivity at all.
Found 3 bits from the same area I've been working whenever I get the chance to visit.
This makes it 22 pieces for this 'worked' area and the machine ran better than in my usual settings, BONUS.
